a must see: flourish leather.

When I found out that Danielle from sublime lite was opening an Etsy shop, Flourish, I got very excited. She is an extremely creative and stylish lady so I knew whatever it was going to be, it was going to be wonderful. I was in awe of how wonderful her shop looked when it opened. Danielle’s product photos are effortless and wonderful and show exactly what the products are, her leather bracelets as so simple yet so stunning.

I waited by my mailbox patiently for my little package to arrive, when it did I couldn’t have been more tickled. It was one of the cutest packages I’ve received. I personally love the way they recycled the packaging. It fits really well with the style of these lovely bracelets and really shows them off.

The qualities of these little beauties are wonderful. I’m actually still scratching my head as to how they are made. They are really perfect for summer, not to mention they are a great deal! They start at only $5!! I think she is shorting herself! You just don’t find handmade leather items with this much thought and care put into them for that price. I strongly suggest getting more than one because they look super cute together.

I’m so happy for Danielle, she’s doing really well! Her Etsy shop is blossoming and have I mentioned how much I love her blog? Her photos and content are really inspiring to me. I love seeing that she has a new post up; I’m always intrigued to see what she has photographed next.

Cheers to Danielle in everything she is doing! Go visit her shop and blog and say hello!

blog love weekly v7.0

{blog}

This week for blog love weekly I am going to being sharing with you one very special blog. Recently Ashley from after nine to five started a blog called “The Bartering Blogger.” Anyone with a blog can join and swap wonderful goodies with other bloggers. It can be handmade or something a little different. I really love this idea. I don’t have a ton of money floating around to get buy new things just because I ‘want’ them, so the Bartering Blogger is a great solution! I was really excited to be able to swap ads with the Bartering Blogger for the month of May. Other bloggers on the page are also willing to swap ads. I can’t wait to share more trades in the future!

{blog}{etsy}

Speaking of Ashley, have you visited her blog? After Nine to Five is an amazing blog full of life experiences from the fabulous Ashley. I love the fact that a lot of her blog posts are just the written word. A lot of times I get so caught up in the visual aspect of blogging I forget about the really important stuff, ya know, like the writing! She can tell a story and give an opinion without all the visual over flow; you have to love a good writer. Her Etsy shop is also full of fun goodies! I’ve been drooling over a lot of her necklaces for a while. Someday when I actually start making money I’ll get one.

One another note: We’re back home and almost done cleaning. It’s so good to be home and as much as I was angry with him, I’m glad Piston is back with us again. It wasn’t the same sleeping without him at the end of the bed.

Happy Friday! You know what that means? Next week is my birthday! Keep a look out for something special!

She also has some really great interviews and information on her glad you have to read through. I’m very glad I got to meet her. She did an amazing job helping put together the AZ Blogger Meet Up! Chelsea also just graduated from college today! So, Congratulations to the lovely lady of Tea Talk, great things are going to come from this girl, mark my words.

{blog}{etsy}{twitter}

This week for Blog Love Weekly I want to first take you to an up and coming and very beautiful blog, Elegant Girl. Erin is a sweet heart and I love her blog and ideas. She does the most amazing art in upcycled spoons. Her necklaces are stunning pieces of work and they come in all styles. Erin has a definite passion for her work and for her blog and it shows in each in of her blog posts. She is rapidly growing into a very inspiring and successful Etsy seller and is someone you really need to check out.

Next is a blog I just recently began to revisit on a regular basis. I want to follow so many blogs sometimes I get wrapped up in others and forget about some I’ve found that are really great. Rachel from Talk 2 the Trees is really a multitalented artist. Her photography is really inspiring to me; I’ve always enjoyed viewing the great images she posts on her blog. I just discovered that she does photography as a business, doing portraits, weddings as well as other events. On top of that she also has truly beautiful art work and knit wear. Her hats are so adorable! She has so much creativity in one person it’s so inspiring that she can do all the things she does and be successful.

Have you fallen in love with any blogs lately? Please share! I love finding new bloggers.

blog love weekly v3.0

Well, better late than never right? This week I've been extremely busy and extemely lazy all at the same time. I've been trying to make these posts every Friday, but atleast it's in the correct week, right?

{blog}{shop}{photography}

This week I would love to visit a lovely blog that I’ve stopped by many times. I’m so excited for Jody, from Peach Parlor, due to the closing of her former place of employment she has decided to take the plunge as a full time Etsy seller. I couldn’t think of a person who could be more successful. She already has a great product line and wonderfully fascinating blog. She has a shop full of adorable vintage items as well as handmade headband, brooches, and more. I first found Jody from her TTV photography. As a photography student I’m really inspired by her work and I think she has an incredible eye for composition. You have to check out here blog that also details the renovations of her house. I love that she is so into the history of the old home they are making new, it’s kind of beautiful.

{blog}{shop}

Next up we have a pretty well know blogger. Ashley from under those neon lights has revamped her Blog and I love keeping up with every one of her posts. I really enjoy the way she writes her entries. It’s like a big long list of ideas. For me, and varied reading ability, this makes the reading pleasure that much more enjoyable. Just visiting her blog makes me smile. She also has just started a line of super adorable stamps for her Etsy store, fly by design, that I’m totally in love with. If only money grew on trees… I would have way to much stuff!!

On a side note: I'm thinking of starting to advertise by sponsoring someone elses blog... What's your take on sponsership? Do you do it for your blog or maybe your shop? I'm just curious.

Have a great days!!

my current obsession.

If you've seen my tumblr or follow me on twitter you'll notice my current love of everything floral. I’ve always been fond of flowers, but since I’ve opened my Etsy shop I’ve grown to love them even more. Getting to work with faux flowers to create hair clips has given me a lot of ideas for other pieces. Checking out some work from floral designers has really sparked my interest. While I was searching through tumblr for pretty flowers I discovered a blog from a Brooklyn, NY floral designer. The blog, kat flower, has some amazing work and her flowers are to die for. I found myself scrolling through the entire history of her blog and I can't wait for more!

Do you have any new inspirations?

blog love weekly v2.0

This week brings us to two very sweet ladies who I’m sure a lot of you have had the pleasure of stopping by their blogs.

{blog}{etsy}

First up! Alycia, from the curious pug. Not only is her blog absolutely adorable, she is too. Her family unfortunately just lost their sweet little pug Cyrus. It breaks my heart to hear of someone losing a pet. I know how hard it can be. Alycia was kind enough to create a fund in Cyrus’s name to donate to Santa Cruz, an organization that helps pugs in need. What a great way to remember a loved one. She is also super creative and crafty. She give some great tips for online sellers that you simply can’t live without. She really takes time and care into each and every one of her blog posts and it really shows.

{blog}{etsy}{vintage}

Next we have the oh so lovely and mommy to be Maryam from Pamplemousse! I’ve loved reading about her pregnancy story. Watching a first time mom really blossom and grow is so sweet. She’s up for the Top Baby Blogs and I really think she deserves to be number one. I think one reason her blog is so great is that she really gets personal with her life but at the same time shares other things too. I love her photographer also. When it comes to blogs, to me, the more photos the better! I am a super visual person and her blog makes my eyes smile all the time! Also, not only is she a full time art teacher, she has two wonderful Etsy Shops! One featuring her photography and other goodies and she recently started a lovely vintage shop. Pamplemousse! Is definitely on of my daily reads!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

blog love weekly V1.0

I really wanted to do a blog post of all the blogs I absolutely adore, and then I realized that there are so many amazing blogs other there that I couldn’t do just one blog post! So I decided that once a week I would feature two blogs that I love and couldn’t live without! I can’t even begin to tell you how much this blogging community has meant to me. I am a total hermit (trying to work on that) but I’ve met some wonderful people through blogging and also have had some amazing opportunities. The blogs I’m going to be featuring are in no particular order, I couldn’t pick favorites anyways. Each blog is just as unique as the beautiful person behind it.

{Grin & Bear It}

First of is Heidi from Grin & Bear It. I love this blog because it gives a really fun look at her life and you really get to know her as a person, I think blogs like that are great. She’s funny, and completely sincere about everything. She is also doing a series called “Weigh in Wednesday” that’s really inspiring. It’s hard to get fit and stay in shape and it’s nice to see her honesty about losing weight and working out. Let’s face it, no one wants to be on a diet and work out day after day. Did I mention she has an adorable Etsy shop? I, amazingly, won her most recent giveaway, and I feel so lucky! She’s been so supportive of me and my little endeavors, commenting on my posts and encouraging me to start and Etsy business. I’m blessed to know her, even if its via cyber space, you should get to know her too!

{the merriweather council}

Next is the lovely Danielle from the merriweather council. Talk about a girl who is honest! Wow. That’s why I love her blog, some of my favorite posts of hers are simple and straight forward like How to Be a Superstar on Etsy and Elsewhere I read that post and had to smile. I don’t think I can visit her blog without smiling. The best part about Danielle is she is completely willing to give advice and help if you really want it. She gave me some really helpful advice for my Etsy shop and I couldn’t be more excited to put it into play. She is a very successful Etsy business owner, so any advice from her is gold. I personally think she is an amazing artist. She has such patients for her art. I can only image how long one of her wishbone embroidery pieces takes her to make. I think her colors and textures are simply gorgeous! Don’t believe me? Go check out her Etsy!

Can’t wait to share more blogs with you! I can’t use the word thank you enough. I’m overly excited about everything right now. I mean remember, I am a cheeto.

Do you have a favorite blog that I need to see? Please share it! I love finding new reads!

show some blog love!

I am just so thankful for such a wonderful and supportive blogging community I have found myself in. There are so many beautiful people out there that are always there to offer a smile through a happy little blog comment. One of those lovely ladies is Kelly at {Love ‘Art’ Child}. Look out, because this girl is an up and coming whirl wind! If you haven’t seen her blog you need too. She’s got that something, ya know? Kelly was sweet enough to honor my little blog with the “Stylish Blogger Award.” As many of you know I don’t really consider myself to be very stylish so this was a super sweet gesture and quite an honor. So, defiantly, thank you!

First, I have to give you eight facts about myself. Hmm… what haven’t I shared yet?

1. I want to learn to play the ukulele.
2. I love bread and butter pickles more than any person should (even when I’m not pregnant.)
3. I was adopted. I have completely accepted that fact and my parents are my parents, biologically or not.
4. I’m terrified of being a mother…. Again.
5. My biggest peep peeve is the sound of someone chewing. I not only married the loudest chewer every, my husband also chews in his sleep! It should like he’s gnawing on a porter house steak every night! How does that happen?
6. I have to sleep with some kind of covers over me.
7. I hate feet. Mine, yours, or whoever’s… ew…
8. I hate mornings and my daughter is the same way. It takes me a good 2 hours to even want to look at another human.

This is the part where I am supposed to tag eight other bloggers. Since I recently did the “7 Facts Award” I decided not to do this. Instead I encourage anyone reading this to check out my “blogs I heart” section. Some of the blogs on there you may already know, and maybe some you haven’t seen before. Wither it’s from my suggestions or from another blogs, today, read someones blog that you have never been to before and leave one nice comment for someone. You’ll brighten their day, I’m sure of it. Speaking of new blogs; leave a comment with your favorite blog. I love visiting new places, and I’ll go and leave each a happy little comment.

Thanks again Kelly! You’re blog is awesome and I can’t wait to read more from you!

Happy blog sharing!

award + treasury

I want to start off by saying how thankful I am for all of my fellow bloggers. Blogging has really been a great outlet for me, and the support I've recieved has been so amazing. I have meant some truely amazing people because I started this little blog, and I couldn't be happier. That being said, I have to give a HUGE thank you to Chrissy from Chrissy in America! She has honored me with the "7 Facts" Award. To have such a wonderful blogger recognize little ol' me means so much! With out further delay here is how the award works:

1. Link back to the person who awarded you.
2. Tell 7 random facts about yourself.
3Pass the award on to 15 bloggers you adore!

Seven facts about yours truely:
1. I worked at Starbucks for almost 4 years, and I wanted to open my own coffee shop.
2. I enjoy watching the Fresh Beat Band with my daughter.
3. I believe in "Ghosts" and I used to live in a haunted apartment (not for very long.)
4. I want to learn sign language because I think it's beautiful.
5. I've been wanting to open a shop on Etsy for over 2 years, but I'm afraid too.
6. I never thought I would say this, but I love Art History.
7. I used to LOVE anime, and I've always wanted to go to Japan.

Well those were some seriously random facts about me! Now to pass it on!!! I was pondering who I could pass this award on too, and I realized how many wonderful blogs I have discovered! Just because you're not on this list doesn't mean I don't love you just as much! There was only room for so many!

Crack the Sky
Pamplemousse
a night like this
grin & bear it
Daily Dose of Dress
serenity and style
Etsy Treasures by Catherine
{bug miscellany}
The Voice of Godlove
The Toast
Peach Parlor
city bird nest
merrymay handmade
talk 2 the trees
polaroid cupcake

There's not pressure to pass it on, really. I just wanted to let you all know that you're loved!

Moving on to my next order of business. I made a treasury on Etsy the other day, and I just wanted to share:

i love the woods the best

Happy Friday Everyone!

P.S. Doesn't blogging sound like a dirty word? =0P
